Energy

DIG is dedicated to the design of projects that are environmentally responsible, energy efficient, and healthy places to live, learn and work. DIG incorporates energy planning, alternative energy technologies, resilience strategies and state and utility incentives into all projects it designs, to monetize and reduce the cost of building infrastructure upgrades for our clients. By reviewing capital renewal programs to identify those projects that can be paid for with energy strategies, our clients can focus more of their capital expenditures on advancing their facilities and building for the future.

Bike Transit Station

In concept, the Bike Transit Station was envisioned as a carbon neutral project connecting multiple means of mass transit – bus and train with bike riders from the surrounding area.  The form of the station was inspired by the composition of the bicycle itself, detailed to be constructed of recycled materials and featuring solar panels on its roof.

Anne Frank School

The proposed 38,000 s.f. addition to this existing K-8 school in northern Philadelphia was designed to meet LEED Silver and contained both a habitable green roof and solar array on the upper classroom roof.  The project also included replacement of the oil fired boilers with energy efficient modular induction boilers and LED lighting throughout the existing building.
