We led the planning, design and renovation efforts at this 154 unit, fully occupied affordable housing community. Our design process was guided by our client’s “residents first” philosophy. Of highest priority was the renovation of each and every apartment with a minimum of disruption to the residents. All apartments received new kitchens, bathrooms, finishes, lighting, and HVAC units. We developed a unique phasing of the work, staged over four days, that allowed residents to sleep in their apartment each night.
All common areas were renovated including the community/dining and activity rooms, entrance and reception, all corridors and the administrative suite. Exterior improvements included new windows, redesigned entrance with canopy and feature wall, new lighting, landscaping, and a resident garden patio area.
