In our tenure working for the NJ Schools Development Authority, we completed emergent services for the prior historic high school and, post-demolition, the architect for the design-build of the new school. Services included:
- Envelope repairs & roof replacements
- New 375,000 sq.ft. school
- Interpretive graphics
- Artifact installations
The new Trenton Central High School is the NJSDA’s largest completed design-build project to date. In this process, our role incorporated the reconciliation of concept drawings into construction documents that adhere to codes, to obtain approvals, and provide construction administration services. Unique to this project, we were awarded the design of Trenton Central High School’s interpretive graphics for the historical displays throughout the school. The new school now serves 1,800 students in a state-of-the-art new facility that has been designed by the State as a response to the local neighborhood, with a detailed facade and variation of colors and finishes, and includes a significant public art program.
Additional key features are:
- LEED Silver certified (pending)
- 1,100-seat auditorium
- Indoor pool
- Culinary arts studio
- 2,000 seat gymnasium
